Our ductless HRV Hokkaido achieves a heat recovery of up to 95%, resulting in lower electricity and heating costs. Installation is done without elaborate piping or other construction measures. Maintenance and cleaning are also simple and can be carried out independently. The innovative motor ensures quiet and efficient operation.
The warranty is valid for 1 year (special regulations for EU-Countries). Passiv Energie offers every user an additional year of warranty free of charge. The warranty period can be extended to 3 years (10 years for ceramic heat storage). Simply register after installation with the postcard provided when purchasing our products.
Should defects occur within the warranty period that are due to material or manufacturing defects, defective product components will be delivered free of charge.
The filter elements of the standard filter can be easily washed out with water and detergent. Our fine dust and pollen filters as well as antibacterial and antiviral filters are not washable. As a general rule, you should change our filters approximately every six months.
The standard filter protects against over 70% of all pollen. In addition, there is also a special fine dust/pollen filter that filters over 99% of pollen and over 97% of fine dust PM2.5. We also offer activated carbon filters to neutralize odours and exhaust gases, as well as exhaust fumes and antibacterial and antiviral filters.
For buying filters, please use our contact form, and we will gladly provide you with comprehensive information.
During operation, the air in the appliance remains in constant motion. The occurrence of mold can therefore be ruled out if handled correctly.

The number of appliances depends on the size and room layout of the building. For normal residential purposes
4 units per floor are usually sufficient. Please also note that one control unit can control up to 8
units. If several controls are installed, the maximum number of usable units can be
increased, making the ventilation system suitable for larger projects such as hotels or commercial
facilities.
Please contact us for air volume flow calculations and quotation requests. This is
a free service. Our example page can also serve as a guide.
For rooms that are only used for short periods, the use of the HRV Hokkaido is not cost-effective. For toilets, we recommend wall-mounted fans with a motion sensor.
Yes, when moist air passes through the HRV Hokkaido thermal accumulator, the moisture is absorbed by the surface of the ceramic heat storage. By adjusting the cycle time between supply and air, the ventilation system can regulate the humidity in conjunction with the sensor-controlled controller VMPX-NH. The control target is the healthily comfortable range of 40-60% rH (relative room humidity).
No. The mains voltage is transformed to a low DC voltage by a power supply unit. The DC motors of the HOKKAIDO fans consume very little power and are therefore very energy efficient.
Ventilation requirements vary depending on the conditions in the building. A lot of ventilation is necessary if, for example, many people live in the house, a lot of water vapor is generated by cooking or bathing or if a gas stove is used, etc. Normally, an air volume flow of 20 to 30 m³/h is calculated per person. If, for example, there are 4 people in the household the required air volume flow is 120 m³/h. If the total air volume of the house 240 m³, an air exchange rate of 0.5 is required. In other words: half of the air in the house must be exchanged every hour. When you build a house, make sure that the required air exchange rate can be covered. We offer free ventilation calculations.
You will receive an individual ventilation plan from us along with a quote for the ventilation devices and necessary accessories. The quote can also be used as an order form. Fill in your desired delivery address and delivery date, then send it back via fax or email. Please plan for 1-2 weeks before the desired delivery date. If you have any changes to products and quantities, please request a new quote.
We will be happy to send you a sample of the heat accumulator. You can try out the heat storage effect yourself with a hairdryer.
