Energy efficiency
With HRV Hokkaido from Passiv Energie, you are choosing the most energy-efficient ventilation system imaginable. Not only does it recover up to 95% of the heat from the exhaust air and use it to heat the supply air, it also has the lowest power consumption of all ventilation units with heat recovery. Ventilation units with heat recovery generally consume considerably more electricity than simple fans because the heat exchanger creates a high flow resistance against which the fan motor has to fight and therefore requires considerably more power and electricity. As a result, some of the energy recovered through heat is lost again in another form. This is particularly noticeable in central ventilation units, because the long pipes increase the flow resistance even further.Our HRV Hokkaido solves this problem through its decentralized system design, whereby the air is fed through the outer wall by the shortest route, the flow-optimized heat exchanger in honeycomb form, and last but not least through the BLDC fan motor Gaussfan03, which has been specially optimized for HRV Hokkaido ventitaltion systems and is based on years of in-house development work by Passiv Energie. As a result, we have even succeeded in reducing power consumption significantly below that of exhaust fans.
With a power consumption of just 0.02W/m3h and an annual power consumption of just 1.53 euros/a, our HRV Hokkaido is so far below the threshold of the energy efficiency label for A+ that it actually deserves two more "+" to be classified correctly.
